An Accra Circuit court has dismissed the case brought against the
Presidential elections of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The election which was slated for August 18 was suspended after one John Kwame Quayson filed a motion against it at the court.
The Accra-based lawyer was seeking an
interpretation as to why the district and regional level elections of
the FA wouldn’t be held before the main presidential elections.
But the court presided over by Justice R.B
Batu Friday morning dismissed the motion and slapped a cash award of
Ghc8,000 on the complainant.
This means that the elections can now go
ahead as planned. So far, the substantive President of the FA Kwesi
Nyantakyi is the only candidate who has filed his nomination for the
position.
