GFA Spends 16.2bn Cedis ($405,000) On Avram Grant's Hotel Bills @ Alisa In 9 months?

The Ghana Football Association has spent billions of cedis accommodating Israeli trainer, Avram Grant, at a Penthouse in Alisa Hotel, Ghana Sports can exclusively reveal.

Investigations conducted Ghanasportsonline.com reveals that the price per night of a penthouse in the Plush Hotel ranges between $1500-2000.

Hence using the lowest rate, the GFA and its sponsors spend about $45,000 every month on the Black Stars coach's accommodation.

Avram Grant was appointed Black Stars coach some nine (9) months ago, meaning the GFA has spent about $405,000 (16.2billion old cedis) within the nine months of his stay at the Alisa Hotel.

It will be recalled that Coach Avram Grant arrived in the country in the second week of December 2014, to take over from Coach Kwesi Appiah as head coach of the Black Stars.

The irony of the situation is that despite these heavy spending on Avram Grant's accommodation, the former Chelsea coach hardly stays in the country.

The Ghana Football Association have over the years failed to secure a permanent duty post for its foreign coaches leading to huge sums of monies which otherwise could have gone into football development being spent on Hotel bills.

Even a Suite at Alisa Hotel cost $409 per night, this means even if the GFA had opted for a Suite to house their coach, they still would have incurred a debt of over 5billion Ghana cedis within the nine months of working with the Israeli.
